Noble Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut in a gift box, Lanson, 2005

Tasting characteristics
The wine boasts a golden-straw color with greenish highlights and a fine pearl. Aromas of white flowers, honey, and pear are harmoniously complemented by citrus notes and subtle mineral nuances. Perfectly balanced, rounded, with a clearly defined structure on the palate and subtle nuances of summer fruit on the lingering, refreshing finish.
Vineyards
For this cuvée, the grapes are harvested from four of the best Grand Cru sites: Avize Oger, Cramant, and Chouilly.
Method of aging
Aged on the lees in the bottle for at least 5 years. (By law, vintage champagne is required to be aged for 3 years).
Mode of production
Champagne is produced using the traditional method (secondary fermentation occurs in the bottle). Lanson never uses malolactic fermentation for its wines, which preserves the pristine richness of flavor and aroma, while the high acidity enhances the wine's development potential.
History of the label
In 1798, Nicolas-Louis Delamotte, a Knight of the Sovereign Order of Malta and the youngest son of François (the founder of the House), adopted the Maltese cross as the House's symbol. The stylized Maltese cross, featured on Lanson champagne bottles today, demonstrates the House's respect for its history. The British Royal Coat of Arms on the Lanson bottle's collar symbolizes the company's status as the official supplier to the Royal Court of England.
This is interesting
In 1900, Queen Victoria awarded Lanson a Royal Warrant, appointing it as the official supplier to the English Royal Court, an honorary status the House has retained to this day.
